Good Morning Britain broadcaster Alex Beresford, 40, has taken to Instagram to celebrate the Eurovision Song Contest after it was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The star displayed his lip-syncing abilities along with his smooth dance moves ahead of the international singing competition’s opening and teased fans with a sneak preview of what could be his entry for the singing competition next year.
The news broadcaster took to social media before the event started to celebrate the competition going ahead.
Sporting a black baseball cap and grey hoodie, the ITV host showed fans his best moves.
Dancing to Jagged Edge’s song Let’s Get Married, Alex lip-synced along while giving the performance his all.
The star performed the dance in front of a large black and gold clock which was hanging on the wall behind him.
Ahead of performing, safety-conscious Alex had made sure there was no furniture in his way, giving him plenty of room to dance.
While showcasing his sultry moves, the star teased fans by suggesting he could make an appearance on the stage next year.
“Eurovision 2022?” he captioned the short clip.
Indeed, the weather forecaster is no stranger to performing, having competed in Dancing On Ice 2018.
The ITV presenter star was partnered with professional skater Brianne Delcourt.
The presenter became the eighth celebrity to be eliminated from the show following a skate-off with Love Island’s Kem Cetinay.
Earlier this year Alex broke his silence on rumours that he and his colleague Laura Tobin are set to take part in Strictly Come Dancing after BBC bosses “put both their names in the mix” for the 2021 series.
After spotting the rumours, Alex cheekily asked whether he needs to work on his dance skills.
He penned in view of his 255,000 followers this morning: “Do I need to brush up on my 2 step and shuffle?”
Later on, the meteorologist addressed the reports again after his GMB co-star Laura shared her thoughts on the micro-blogging site.
Laura opted to share several screenshots of an article detailing the news before calling out her colleague by writing: “Bring it on @alexberesfordTV I’ve seen your dancing #Strictly #Rainboffin?”
Alex retweeted Laura’s post and added: “Sounds like a storm in a teacup,” alongside a crying with laughter emoji.
The broadcaster has made frequent appearances on the breakfast show following Piers Morgan’s decision to leave the show in March.
After clashing with the outspoken personality over comments he made about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Piers stormed off set.
Alex has since been presenting alongside Kate Garraway, Ranvir Singh and Charlotte Hawkins.
