Debbie McGee took to Instagram this morning to share an update on her diet with her 17,900 followers. The 62-year-old TV and radio star is embarking on a new healthy eating regime after previously admitting that she put on weight during the third national lockdown.

“Good morning everybody, I’m back in Debbie’s den to let you know how the diet’s going,” she said in a video which was posted online today.

“Well I had a really long day out yesterday, I started off very well with my yoghurt and berries for breakfast and then had a lovely prawn cocktail with salad for lunch, which is all part of the Giancarlo and Katie Caldesi diet.

“But then in the evening, my lovely sister-in-law Alex made dinner for me and it was one of my favourite’s bangers and mash.

“So the good news is, I got up this morning and weighed myself and I haven’t put any weight on.”

Debbie went on to say that she was going to share a picture of her breakfast so that social media users could follow suit if they wanted to.

“So today, I’m about to have breakfast, and I shall post a picture of what it shall be.

“So for all of those who are following this, you can follow along now and have that for your breakfast maybe a day after, who knows.

Many took to the comments section to share their thoughts and thank the former Strictly star for her positivity and diet inspiration.

“Just loving your adorable diet posts Debbie! Your positivity and giggles set me up for the day! Can’t wait to see what is for breakfast,” one follower wrote.

“Looking amazing Debbie!, Your meals sound delicious!, Looking forward to seeing the photo of what you had for breakfast! Have a wonderful day!” Another added.

Sharing a similar sentiment a third said: “Loving your daily diet posts Debbie!, You’re such an amazing and inspiring lady!, Your food all sounds so yummy, Can’t wait to see what you’re having for breakfast!, Have a lovely day!x”

“That’s good Debbie I never know what to have for a change for breakfast,” a fourth fan penned.

As promised, Debbie returned to the site shortly after to share a picture of her first meal of the day.

“Breakfast Caldesi style,” she captioned the food snap.

Her plate was filled with smoked salmon on scrambled eggs with spinach and spring onions.

“That’s my type of breakfast Debbie!, Looks so yummy!” one follower said.

“Looks so delicious Debbie!, I’m going to try this!,” another added.

During a podcast appearance earlier this month, Debbie revealed that she had put half a stone on during lockdown.

She told fellow guests on the Wonderbirds Youtube series about her weight gain and how she was already shedding the extra pounds.

“I put on weight in lockdown. I put on half a stone. I’ve just lost my weight by eating the most amazing food,” she said.

She informed her co-stars that she had been following The 30 Minute Diabetes Cookbook, which is filled with low-carb recipes.
