Dianne Buswell, 31, has revealed she is missing her family back home in Australia as she remains in the UK for her work commitments during lockdown with boyfriend Joe Sugg, 28. The Strictly Come Dancing professional admitted spending extended time away from her loved ones has been the “toughest thing” to deal with over the past year.

I really miss my family

She revealed: “I really miss my family in Australia. That’s the toughest thing I have to deal with on a daily basis.

“If my family were here, everything would be absolutely brilliant.

“But they’re so happy that I am here, doing what I love. For now, all my work is here, Joe is here.

“I feel like the UK has welcomed me so nicely that I do really love it here,” she added to Hello!.

On social media, Joe shared that the pair would be spending Christmas together in London, as Dianne could not make it back to her native Australia.

The blogger uploaded a sweet snap of them on a winter walk as he typed: “Sad for this one as she didn’t get to fly to Australia today because of Tier 4 n all that.

“But we’re also thinking about everyone else too and their own awful situations and plans going to s*** this Xmas.

“It’s important to remember you’re not alone in this and everyone is going through it or has been through it this year and everyone has their own way of coping and dealing with it.

“But just remember that although it doesn’t feel like it’s temporary.. it is and one day we will all be back to normal again if we all buckle up and ride this horrible situation out. Lots of love to you all and reach out to your mates and loved ones to check in on them.”

London was in Tier 4 before Christmas, which meant that residents could only fly abroad if it was for work purposes.

Boris Johnson announced a countrywide down lockdown this month, that has seen many in the UK remain entirely separated from their families in other countries.

Dianne’s brother was meant to get married last year, but due to social distancing restrictions, it could not go ahead.

However, she admitted that the pending nuptials have not made her think about having her own special day.

She added: “I don’t over-plan things. I’m a bit more happy-go-lucky.”

Although her brother’s wedding has been postponed for now, Dianne hopes at some point her whole family will visit the UK from Australia.

“My whole family would come over. That would be perfect,” she stated.

Dianne and Joe are equally relaxed about the future, as they enjoy each other’s company.

She admitted they “don’t talk’ about marriage and take each day as it comes.

The couple have been dating since shortly after they appeared on Strictly Come Dancing together in 2018.

At the time, Joe called the so-called Strictly curse, which refers to stars of the show breaking up or starting relationships during or after taking part, a “blessing” in their case.
