DOI’s Alex Murphy thanks Joe Swash for support after leaving hotel hand-in-hand
Dancing On Ice pro Alex Murphy has written an emotional message thanking her skating partner Joe Swash for his "emotional support" after they were pictured leaving a hotel hand-in-hand yesterday .
The pair won the ITV talent show on Sunday night, and Joe later let loose at the boozy afterparty.
The next morning, Joe, 38, was pictured leaving his hotel holding hands with Alex.
The Canadian skater has now posted a lengthy message on her Instagram page thanking Joe for helping her while she was away from her family during months of training.
In her note, Alex wrote: "I’m still in shock. This year has taught me the craziest lesson.
"I always believed in trusting the process, but if I have learned anything this year, it is that fate has a way of bringing people together.
"Thank you so much @realjoeswashy . There are not enough ways to say thank you for everything you’ve done for me.
"You’ve been the hardest worker, an absolute joy to work with each day, and my emotional support when I’m away from home."
Alex went on to thank both their families and all their friends for helping them through the DOI journey.
She added: "Thank you for letting us constantly talk about ice skating, for understanding when we were tired and crabby, and for letting us put EVERYTHING we had into this competition.
"I cannot believe after all these bumps in the road, we’ve only gone and won it! All the lows we have had have made this victory all the more meaningful.
"And thank you so much to everyone who voted for us. You got a little glimpse into our crazy journey and you supported us all the way. Thank you so so much."
Pro skater Alex is currently in a relationship with YouTube star Paul Klein.
When Joe eventually got home yesterday, he was greeted by his girlfriend Stacey Solomon, who had arranged a surprise party for him.
The final's result was met with much criticism and surprise as fans moaned that runner-up Perri Kiely was robbed of the win after he performed a death-defying back flip during his performance.
