Dr Dre reveals his ripped ‘Covid body’ after Will Smith’s ‘dad bod’

Dr Dre definitely didn’t get the assignment about the social media trend of revealing ‘dad bods’, after sharing a selfie of his ripped abs.

The Aftermath Records boss was inspired by Will Smith who recently shared a photo of his body which he claimed was ‘in the worst shape of [his] life’.

It sparked a trend among male celebrities, with Marlon Wayans among those uploading selfies showing how their bodies have changed during the coronavirus pandemic.

Taking his turn, Dr Dre, 56, pulled up his shirt in the gym to reveal a very toned and athletic body with a clear six-pack on show.

‘This is my Covid body. I’m about to start getting my s**t together. Going in with @willsmith. Let’s Go!!!!’ the rap producer said.

Bad Boys actor Will, 52, wasted no time in replying and praised Dre’s physique, commenting: ‘Damn! Your covid body is the rest of our best shape, Dre!’

Rapper Snoop Dogg also got in with the jokes and quipped: ‘I’ll be in the gym before u get there doc.’

Kicking off the trend, Will recently shared a photo of him standing in his garden wearing underpants and a jacket with his chest on show.

‘I’m gonna be real wit yall – I’m in the worst shape of my life,’ he wrote.

‘This is the body that carried me through an entire pandemic and countless days grazing thru the pantry. love this body, but I wanna feel better. No more midnight muffins…this is it! ‘Imma get in the best shape of my life!!!!!’

He later revealed that he had ditched the ‘midnight muffins’ and was heading to the gym, telling his Instagram followers: ‘Back to square one. Lookin like a circle. Let’s get it!!’

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star has found a silver lining in his supposed weight gain as he’ll be documenting his new fitness plan in a new YouTube series.

Titled Best Shape of My Life, the series has been described as ‘the fun, funny, inspirational, wildly adventurous, and deeply entertaining story of [Will] challenging himself to improve every aspect of his fitness, from agility to power to recovery and more’.

Fans will be able to follow the journey when it debuts in 2022.
