Oti Mabuse reveals surprising nod to Kelvin Fletcher in Greatest Dancer final preparations
Oti Mabuse, 29, seemed to pay homage to her incredible showdance with her Strictly Come Dancing 2019 partner Kelvin Fletcher ahead of The Greatest Dancer 2020 final tonight. The dance captain is hoping for Ballroom dance duo Michael and Jowita, who she has mentored throughout the BBC series, to win this evening after all of their hard work together.
While preparing for tonight’s grand finale, Oti appeared to reveal to her 405,000 Instagram followers that she had brought her shoes from her and Kelvin’s showdance to Shout by The Isley Brothers, which helped the pair to win Strictly’s Glitterball trophy last year.
Showing off the black high-heeled shoes to the camera in a short video, Oti explained in the caption: “Lucky showdance shoes.
“Let’s do this @michael_jowita,” alongside a red heart emoji.
The professional dancer also played Shout in the background of the clip to showcase the significance of the pair of shoes.

It is unclear whether Oti wore the shoes on the show, or if she just kept them in her dressing room for good luck.
The star’s mention of her showdance with Kelvin comes after she praised Michael and Jowita ahead of The Greatest Dancer.
In a sweet Instagram post alongside a gallery of snaps of her spending time with the duo, she wrote: “Tonight @michael_jowita take @greatestdancer floor for the last time.
“You have been nothing but impeccable in my eyes. I am so proud of you and how much you’ve taken on this show and this new world and given you’re absolute everything.
“In 6 weeks we’ve formed a friendship and you’ve shown me and proven that with hard work anything can be achieved and there are no limits when you want to achieve something as long as your heart is in it.”
She added: “@jamezbennett thank you for your late nights of planning, laughing, preparing and being so involved in all of #otisquad (also for being the strict one) lol I just freaking adore you to all 3 of you – this has been an unforgettable ride, now go out there and DANCE YOUR HEART OUT.
“Lastly thank you to everyone who has supported @michael_jowita your messages, texts, calls and vote we are all incredibly grateful x #michaeljowita #greatestdancer.”
Oti’s fans and Strictly co-stars took to the comments section of her post to wish her and the dancers luck.
