Shania Twain Reveals She Had Multiple Throat Surgeries As A Result of Lyme Disease

Shania Twain is getting candid in her new interview on Sunday Today with Willie Geist, airing this weekend.

The 54-year-old country superstar opened up about how she’s living with lyme disease, going through many open-throat surgeries and more.

“It was devastating…I felt I had no other choice but to just accept it — in that I would never sing again. I was mourning the expression of my voice,” Shania shared about how the disease caused the surgeries.

However, while she mourned her old voice, she found a new one.

“I’m never going to have my old voice again. I’m okay with that. I’ve found a new voice and I like it.”
