Tom Cruise Broke His Silence Over His Viral ‘Mission: Impossible’ Set Rant

Tom Cruise has finally addressed *that* Mission: Impossible set rant – and he has no regrets about any of it.

Cruise, who plays Ethan Hunt in the action franchise, was recorded reprimanding crew members on the set of Mission: Impossible 7 for breaking coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions.

“If I see you do it again, you’re f**king gone,” the actor was heard shouting last year. “And if anyone in this crew does it, that’s it – and you too and you too. And you, don’t you ever f**king do it again.”

Now, with the dust settled, Cruise has defended his actions. “I said what I said,” he told Empire Magazine, explaining that there was “a surge” in COVID-19 cases in England at the time.

“There was a lot at stake at that point,” he continued. “But it wasn’t my entire crew. I had the crew leave the set, and it was just select people.”

Suggesting that his words ultimately did the trick, Tom revealed that filming was “never shut down again.” “And here we are, continuing to film,” he added. “I do Zoom parties and kids’ parties also, you know!”

Ahead of M:I 7‘s release next year, the actor-cum-daredevil also reflected on the sense of relief he felt after production on the movie eventually resumed.

Filming on the upcoming sequel was one of the first to be postponed amid COVID-19 fears last year – and that thought wasn’t lost on Cruise.

“All those emotions were going through my mind. I was thinking about the people I work with, and my industry,” he explained. “And for the whole crew to know that we’d started rolling on a movie was just a huge relief.

“It was very emotional, I gotta tell you.”
