    IGHALO DEAL

Odion Ighalo joined Manchester United on loan from Shaghai Shenhua a year ago.

But United decided against a permanent deal and thus Ighalo left Old Trafford to find his next destination.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the striker has completed a permanent move to Al-Shabab.

    Romano tweeted:

    NO TO RACISM

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has pledged to pump more money in the fight against racism following an increase of vile incidents in recent weeks against Blues ace Reece James and Manchester United stars Marcus Rashford, Axel Tuanzebe and Anthony Martial.

Abramovich wrote in a letter: "Racism has no place in our club nor in our society.

"Our club is committed to fighting racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination.

"We cannot allow this to continue unchecked. I have therefore directed the board to further increase the club's efforts in this area and I will personally direct more funds towards this important work."

    FER-Y WORRYING

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes addressed Bruno Fernandes' recent dip in form.

Fernandes has been United's most influential player on the pitch ever since his arrival last year but Scholes hasn't been impressed with his contributions in recent weeks.

The legendary midfielder told Premier League Productions: “You talk about [playing] Liverpool and Manchester City, they just can’t seem to win those games.

“When you struggle against Sheffield United the other night and you get beat by them, and it comes to the big game, you have to win these games, and they just can’t find a way of doing it.

“Bruno Fernandes has been disappointing in every single one of them. He’s had great numbers, great assists, great goals, I think in the last five games against big teams he’s had no goals, no assists.

“It’s really worrying. And that’s why United are where they’re at. I know they’re in a good position, it’s an alright position, but it’s not a position where you think this team will go on to win the league”

    BRIGHTON'S SIGN UNITED TARGET

Brighton have completed the signing of former Manchester United transfer target Moises Caicedo.

Potters manager Graham Potter said: "The plan is for him to acclimatise and settle in here with us.

"It wouldn’t be fair for me to put any real expectations on him for the next couple of months. The main thing is to settle in and adapt.

"He’s not coming in to fix any problems for us as the first thing, that’s for sure. He’s here to settle in and get to know us, we get to know him, so the expectations are just that really."

    ROJO LATEST

Marcos Rojo's transfer to Boca Juniors may not be finalised tonight.

But that doesn't mean Rojo won't be leaving Manchester United as the January transfer window slams shut on February 19 in Argentina.

The centre-back is in Buenos Aires undergoing a medical for Boca.

It is safe to assume the Argentina international's United stint has come to an end

    AND THE AWARD GOES TO…

Manchester United have announced their candidates for the club's January player of the month award.

    CONSTANT GARNER

Manchester United loanee James Garner admitted it has been "difficult" adapting to the demands of the Championship.

Garner played for Watford on loan but saw his playing time significantly diminished following a managerial change.

The 19-year-old midfielder was then loaned out to Nottingham Forest where he will stay until the end of the season.

Garner told the club's official YouTube channel: "The Championship has been tough. I have found it quite tough to be fair.

"Coming from 23s football straight into the Championship. Some people say it is possibly the hardest league in the world in terms of the things you come up against; the pitches, the way teams play.

"So it has been difficult to adapt but something that is a challenge – and I like a challenge."

    RETURN OF THE KING

Former Manchester United transfer target Josh King, who came very close to moving to Old Trafford last year, is dominating the headlines once more on transfer deadline day.

United couldn't agree with Bournemouth and thus manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed Odion Ighalo whereas King was reportedly left gutted he missed out on a dream move.

The Cherries striker is now linked with a transfer to Newcastle, Everton, Southampton and Fulham.

The Red Devils, though, are not involved in this bidding war this time

    NO MORE LOANS

Teden Mengi may be the last youngster Manchester United agree to let go on loan in the January transfer window.

According to the Manchester Evening News, all other developmental players will stay put at Old Trafford until the end of the season.

Ethan Galbraith, Matej Kovar and Dylan Levitt were linked with a transfer before deadline day.

But it seems like United have closed shop tonight

    MENGI ON ROONEY

Manchester United youngster Teden Mengi spoke about his discussion with Derby manager Wayne Rooney before his loan move to the Rams.

United legend Rooney convinced Mengi about his plans and told him he rates him highly.

He said: "As soon as I found out Derby were interested, Wayne was on the phone.

"He was telling me what the club is about and what he wants from me. He has been brilliant with me so far.”

    MENGI SPEAKS OUT

Manchester United youngster Teden Mengi spoke about his loan move to Derby on transfer deadline day.

Mengi told Derby's in-house media: "I’m really excited and I’m buzzing to be here.

"When I first heard Derby County were interested, it was a no-brainer for me to be in the Championship against good opponents and to be playing men’s football. I am really happy to be here.

“I think I did well in the Under-23s last season so I think I need a new challenge. I am a fighter with a willingness to defend and a ball-playing centre back and vocal as well. I am ready to kick on and this is a brilliant opportunity for me."

    BRIGHTON SIGN UNITED TARGET

Brighton have confirmed the signing of Independiente del Valle ace Moises Caicedo.

Caicedo was previously linked with a move to Manchester United, who were impressed with the talented box-to-box player.

However, United dropped their interest for the midfielder amid the January transfer window.

Brighton boss Graham Potter said: "It’s no secret we have been working to bring Moises to the club, and we are very pleased he is finally here.

"He will need time to settle in with the group, for us to get to know him and vice versa, as well as get up to speed and ready for the demands of the Premier League.

"He has done very well in Ecuador and made his debut for his country at just 18. He’s an exciting signing, but it is important we give him time to adjust."

    DON COUNT HIM OUT

Donny van de Beek won't be leaving Manchester United on loan on transfer deadline day.

That is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims Van de Beek is "100% staying".

The star midfielder has struggled to stand out at United ever since his arrival from Ajax last summer.

But the Red Devils have still rejected a number of loan offers throughout the January transfer window.

    Romano tweeted:

    SANCHO DOUBLE SWOOP

Manchester United have been targeting Jadon Sancho since the summer but have yet to reach a deal with Borussia Dortmund.

According to the Daily Express, United will make a swoop for both Sancho and Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele in the summer transfer window.

But the Red Devils are only going to sign one of the two star forwards.

The Manchester giants have been relatively quiet in the January transfer window but are set for a busy summer

    KOUNDE SITUATION

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made Sevilla star Jules Kounde his top transfer target ahead of the summer window.

That is according to the Daily Mirror, who claim that Solskjaer sees Kounde as the perfect partner for Harry Maguire at centre-back.

However, United would find themselves in an intense bidding war if they go ahead with their pursuit to sign the Frenchman.

That is because Bayern Munich, Juventus and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the 22-year-old defender

    MENGI DONE DEAL

Manchester United have just announced that 18-year-old centre-back Teden Mengi has joined Derby on loan.

Derby manager and United legend Wayne Rooney expressed his pleasure to have Mengi over earlier today.

Rooney said: "He is a fantastic young player – he is quick, and strong, he can play in a two or a three at the back.

“He is ready to come into the squad once the paperwork is done.”

Rojo will be undergoing a medical to seal a move to Boca following a seven-year stint at United.

    BECKS FRIENDS

Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos is keen to join Manchester United following a series of chats he had with former team-mate David Beckham in the past.

According to Sportbible, United hero Beckham used to tell Ramos about life at Old Trafford after he left the Red Devils for Real and the star centre-back liked what he heard.

The Spain international has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with Los Blancos and that means he will be able to leave on a free transfer if nothing changes by the end of the season.

The 34-year-old has received offers from Paris Saint-Germain and Asian clubs but doesn't appear to be interested enough

    ROJO UPDATE

Manchester United outcast Marcos Rojo has attracted interest from two of the biggest clubs in Argentina.

According to Sky Sports, Boca Juniors and Estudiantes are keeping tabs on Rojo during transfer deadline day.

However, Boca hold an advantage even though the centre-back has a history with El Leon where he started his career.

    GON AND DONE IT

Manchester United have reportedly made a transfer enquiry for Sporting Lisbon's top scorer Pedro Goncalves.

As the transfer deadline edges closer, United are said to be tracking Goncalves, 22, according to Portuguese outlet Record.

Record also claim that the Red Devils had an initial bid for the midfielder rejected by Lisbon last month.

The Portuguese league leaders reportedly rebuffed United's approach as they want their talisman to stay put until the end of the season at least.

It has been said that Gonclaves shares the same stance as his club, and wants to propel them to the league trophy.

He's contracted to Lisbon until 2025, but has a release clause of £53m, which United are reportedly willing to meet.

    LUKE AT THAT

He looked to be struggling for a starting spot when Alex Telles arrrived at Old Trafford.

But Luke Shaw's recent performances have been outstanding.

He has created the most chances as a defender for his teammates.

    Not that United are bragging…

    OGS ON DIALLO

Solskjaer was quizzed on Amad Diallo and if he would be involved in the United team soon.

We’re going to give him the time to settle in, show his skills and adapt. He can open up defences, and I don’t think it will be too long until he’s involved in a matchday squad.

    PHIL-ING UP

Phil Jones has been linked with a move away, despite recovering from injury.

Jones was also not included in the Premier League list for the first half of the season and it seemed his United career was coming to an end.

But Solskjaer is hopeful he can return from injury soon and get back in contention.

Phil has been recovering from an injury, a knee operation he had, and he's working hard to be available again. So, he will be included on the [Premier League] list. Hopefully he’ll get his fitness back sooner, rather than later, and be able to play.
