Sony first announced its new Xperia 1 III back in April with this new phone getting a whole host of upgrades. This latest flagship incudes a stunning 6.5-inch OLED screen that is fully 4K HDR-compatible making it ideal for a Netflix box set binge.
Sony has upped the refresh rate from its last Xperia 1 meaning owners are now treated to 120Hz technology which will make scrolling through emails and playing the latest games feel silky smooth and stuffer free.
Spin the Xperia 1 III around and there’s a new triple camera on the rear case which now gets a telephoto lens to help improve those up-close and personal shots.
Head aluminium and glass the shell and there’s a 4,500mAh battery that can be fast-charged and the Xperia 1 III is powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 processor.
So that’s all the best bits of this new phone but all that tech does come at a very high price.

Sony has just confirmed that its new ultra-premium phone will cost £1,199 SIM free. Ouch!
If that price hasn’t put you off then it will be available from August 19th in Frosted Black and Frosted Purple.
To help soften the financial blow, Sony also says that anyone who pre-orders this device will get a free pair of award-winning Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones worth £329.
If spending over £1,100 on a phone simply sounds too much then the Xperia 5 III price has also just been announced.
This £899 will be available in September and includes a triple rear camera and 120Hz 6in OLED screen.
Although it’s not 4K so don’t expect your boxset binge to look quite as exquisite as the Xperia 1 III.
Although the screen can’t match its bigger brother you still get that fast 888 processor, big battery and those all-important 5G network speeds.
Sony says that anyone who purchases this phone at launch will be eligible to claim a free pair of Sony WH-H910N h.ear on 3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones worth £250.
