Aldi’s Specialbuys go on sale every Thursday and Sunday with some items immediately selling out due to their popularity. The discount supermarket changes and updates its stock often, adding brand-new products to its range.
One of the latest products to be introduced to Aldi’s Specialbuys range was a set of Halloween Squishmallows.
The cuddly toys cost £7.99 each, making them a bargain for parents this Halloween.
Describing the products on its website, Aldi said: “Whether it be the ultimate Halloween Squishmallow collection or simply a gift for your little one the Halloween Squishmallow Werewolf is the perfect addition.
“This irresistibly soft toy is designed with a squeezable marshmallow like texture so your little one can cuddle up to it whilst sleeping or watching a movie.
“Perfect for newborns too, these adorable Squishmallows are machine washable so you can get them super clean, quickly and easily.”
The Squishmallows come in six different models: a skeleton, a cat, a werewolf, a vampire, a ghost, and a grim reaper.
The squishy products were expected to be on sale online on from October 10, followed by an in-store launch on October 14.
But, much to customers’ dismay, the products were delayed.
They arrived in store yesterday, October 19.
Aldi wrote on Twitter: “We can advise that a delay was anticipated with the Halloween Squishmallows arriving in stores however we can confirm these are now available.
“Please check your local store for availability while stocks last.”
But customers must be quick as the Squishmallows have proved popular this week, selling out in hours online.
Not one of the models is still available to buy online.
Customers took to social media this week to express their frustration with the products’ delay and the fact they sold out so quickly online.
Replying to Aldi’s Instagram post about the Squishmallows, user Cora Thirley said: “Why post this if they’re not in stores?”
User Hannah said: “If only they had been in store on time.”
Before Aldi announced the Squishmallows are now on sale, Instagram user @Squishcrossing wrote: “They aren’t in store though! And you’ve given np official word on when they will be? Very disappointing!”
One customer had gone to their local store two days ago, October 18, and couldn’t find the product. They said: “All sold out now in store and online.”
Others hoped the Squishamllows would be back in stock soon and couldn’t wait to get their hands on one.
Holly Jones wrote: “I need!”
Charlie Baxter said: “Deffo want to get these!”
User @Pepperthepatt added: “Yes please I’ll take 12.”
