Ricky Gervais, the powerhouse behind the smash-hit Netflix show After Life, has shared a series of hilarious bloopers. However, one stunt may have gone too far, with his co-star looking far from impressed and very red-faced.

The actor and comedian wrote, produced, directed and starred in the show about newspaper writer Tony Johnson, whose life sadly took a turn for the worse after his wife passed away.

The show itself is a black comedy, and fans might have thought, how could it get any funnier?

Well, the show thought it could delight viewers one more time by sharing a 13-minute blooper reel on their Youtube Channel – Still Watching Netflix.

The hilarious video takes fans behind the camera and exposes them to the camaraderie and shenanigans that the cast has got up to.

Sharing with their 2.33 million subscribers, they said: “Try not to corpse while watching the full 13 minutes of bloopers from the third — and final — season of After Life, starring, written and directed by Ricky Gervais.

“All three seasons are now streaming exclusively on Netflix.”

Fans in hysterics took to the video platform to share their thoughts on the reel and highlight their favourite filming mishaps.

“I love Ricky’s distant laugh whilst everyone is trying not to break character,” Ricky fan John said.

Gugelhupf added: “Working with Ricky must either be the greatest experience, or the most frustrating job ever. The guy cuts so many takes with his genuine laugh it’s amazing.”

There is one clip in the blooper reel where David pelts actor David Earl several times at the funfair with tomatoes.

As Ricky bursts into hysterics, you can hear the actor say, “that was too close, that was too close”.

Ricky, 60, even noticed how hard he threw the healthy snack and said: “He is never going to work with me again.”

The show has been a hit with the audience worldwide, and despite covering the heavy content of losing his wife to breast cancer, the show highlights important issues that the audience can relate to.

The third instalment was the final in the series, with the six-part run being the last audiences would see the Tambury crew.

Ricky recently spoke to the Radio Times and opened up on how he didn’t expect the show to run for three series.

“I never plan a second. I hope there’s a second, but I even made the first season [in a way] that it could end there if something happened.

“Like if no one watched it, if the broadcaster said, ‘That was the biggest flop ever’, or I got hit by a bus.”

He is also the driving force behind other comedy shows, Extras and The Office.

The third season dropped earlier this month and somehow surpassed fans’ expectations.

Kate said: “Omg @rickygervais has done it again with Afterlife. So emotional There’s so many highs, sooo many lows but such a clever series.”

After Life, seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix.
