Coronation Street took a dark turn when Seb Franklin (played by Harry Visinoni) and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) were aggressively beaten up by Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and his friends in the middle of the street. Nina just about recovered from her injuries but sadly, Seb did not and later died in hospital. The ITV soap has been following the investigation after his death and the trial which didn’t go to plan.

Corey and Kelly Neelan (Mollie Gibson) were both charged with the murder of Seb.

Despite Nina confirming that Kelly tried to stop Corey from kicking her boyfriend, the jury found Kelly guilty of the crime.

She was convicted and to everyone’s dismay, Corey was able to walk free.

Stunned by this, Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) has left the cobbles and her disappearance is going to lead to someone from her past showing up.

Seb’s dad Tez (Stephen Lord) hasn’t been seen before and it is only by accident that he does get involved.

Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) is worried Abi will start taking drugs again and goes to the Dog & Gun pub with a picture of his fiancée, asking if anyone has seen her.

It is here that he meets Tez who didn’t even know that his son Seb had been murdered.

He is adamant that he hasn’t seen Abi though but Kevin isn’t quite sure whether to believe him or not.

Who plays Seb Franklin’s dad?

Seb’s dad Tez will be portrayed by actor Stephen Lord.

Soap fans will best recognise him for previously playing Jase Dyer who starred in BBC One’s Eastenders back in 2007.

He was Jay Brown’s (Jamie Borthwick) dad who was beaten to death by gang leader Terry Bates (Nicholas Ball).

While the attack was going on, Billy Mitchell was cowering in the bathroom and did not try to save him.

This was part of the reason why Billy took Jay in and raised him like his own son.

Billy confessed what really happened to Jay months later and eventually forgave him for it.

Besides EastEnders, Lord played Dominic Meak in Channel 4 comedy-drama Shameless and starred in the series Penny Dreadful, Marcella, New Blood and Safe House.

Now Lord is going to be forced to help Kevin in his mission to bring back Abi in Coronation Street.

Kevin isn’t going to believe Tez about not seeing Abi and so is going to follow him.

He will see Tez selling and trying some drugs and take a picture for proof.

Kevin will then once again confront Tez and force him to tell the truth or he would send the photo to his probation officer.

But is Seb’s dad really going to be of any help in tracking Abi down?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV.
