Dancing On Ice 2020: Libby Clegg comes third place during intense finale

Paralympian Libby Clegg has placed third on Dancing On Ice 2020 – being knocked out just ahead of the final round to claim the winner.

The star has been inspiring fans from the beginning of the show by taking part in dangerous stunts and moves despite being legally registered blind.

Partnered with pro skater Mark Hanretty, Libby performed an Olympics themed routine, before returning to an old routine from Disney week to the Bear Necessities.

After being announced as coming in third place, her pro partner Mark said: ‘Time spent with Libby and seeing the challenges you face with such positivity has made us all better people.’

The pair can officially go out on a high though – considering that their final two routines both scored a perfect 40.

Their showcase routine, set to Gloria Estefan’s Reach, left Jayne Torvill unable to talk as they went to her for deliberations, with John Barrowman clearly having cried as well.

Christopher Dean told her: ‘Thank you so much, I’m so happy that we’ve got a woman here on International Women’s Day, we’ve thrown everything at you over the last 10 weeks and you stood up and took it all.

‘I’m so proud of you, congratulations.’

In a final chat with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Libby said she hoped that she had inspired disabled people to do great things.

Dancing On Ice is available now on ITV Player.
