GB News launched on Sunday, June 13 at 8pm, and following their episode of Tonight Live with Dan Wootton, Ofcom received 373 complaints.
Prior to the announcement that the June 21 'Freedom Day' would be postponed, Dan Wootton unleashed a scathing rant on GB News regarding Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Covid-19.
The reporter said: "Boris Johnson has bottled it. Freedom Day won't take place next Monday, Britain won't be open again. We will still be haunted by the pandemic despite having the world's best vaccine rollout.
"Lockdowns are a crude measures. Mark my words in the years to come we will discover they have caused far more deaths and devastation than the government has ever admitted."
Dan Wootton claimed that the "doomsday scientists and public health officials have taken control" adding that they are "addicted to the power". He also said that the government has "terrified the public into supporting lockdowns".
He believes if people don't fight back, the damage will be "irreversible".
In the statement, he questioned why the good news is not being reported, while recognising that 95% of over-65s have Covid-19 antibodies and that deaths are not rising in the way that cases are.
He said: "If we struggle to get freedom in the middle of summer, then I struggle to maintain hope."
Speaking on Theresa May's recent comments in the House of Commons, he told viewers that she was right.
Her statement in the House of Commons saw her recognise that new variants will continue to come and questioned why the country hasn't received full freedom once again.
Dan recognised the struggle of the wedding industry, nightlife, theatres and many other businesses that remain closed.
Andrew Neil opened the show on Sunday, June 13, at the time he said: "It’s 8pm on Sunday June 13 2021. Welcome to the launch of GB News, Britain’s news channel, dedicated to covering the news that matters to you and to giving a voice to those who felt sidelined or even silenced in our great national debates. Because if it matters to you, it matters to us."
He added: "GB News will not be yet another echo chamber for the metropolitan mindset that already dominates so much of our media. It is our explicit aim to empower those who feel their stories, their opinions, their concerns have been ignored or diminished."
