Spoilers: Geoff is enraged in Corrie as Yasmeen stands up to him
Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) made a shocking discovery in tonight’s instalment of Coronation Street, as she learned that she’d contacted chlamydia, and — upon confronting abusive Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) with said discovery — she revealed that the STI didn’t come from her — insinuating that he was to blame — something which left him fuming.
Yasmeen has felt unwell for the last couple of weeks, and — during tonight’s episode — she headed to the medical centre for an appointment with Dr Gaddas, who had her test results.
After spending ages trying to work out what was wrong, Yasmeen was devastated when the doc revealed that she has chlamydia. Knowing that she hasn’t been unfaithful, she knew that Geoff must have slept with someone else — which reminded her of the escort email she discovered several weeks back.
Geoff was horrified when he discovered what was wrong with her, and proceeded to berate her — accusing her of sleeping with someone else — but Yasmeen reminded him that it was he who’d been emailing escorts.
With Gaddas having informed Yasmeen that the STI can lay dormant, she decided to contact Sharif’s new partner Sonya — who confirmed that neither she nor Sharif had chlamidya — which only furthered Yasmeen’s suspicions.
As Geoff grew abusive once more, Yasmeen revealed that she’d been in touch with Sonya, and therefore can confirm that the STI didn’t come from her — insinuating that he must’ve been the one to bring it into the house.
Geoff was fuming — but will he seek revenge?
Will he continue to belittle Yasmeen and blame her, in spite of the fact that he knows full well it was his fault?
Coronation Street continues Wednesday 29 April at 7:30pm on ITV.
