Former Playboy Mother PJ Masten recalls being raped by executive

Former Playboy Mother PJ Masten recalls being raped by high-ranking executive while another bunny says she was attacked twice in one night in latest revelations from explosive Playboy docuseries

  • Docuseries Secrets of Playboy has lifted lid on sexual abuse at Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion
  • ‘Bunny Mother’ PJ Masten claimed she was raped by powerful Playboy executive
  • Miki Garcia, a former head of promotions, said she was raped twice by a sponsor because of the ‘cult-like’ attitude at the company
  • The series portrays Hugh Hefner as a ‘vampire’ who manipulated dozens of young women into taking part in degrading orgies
  • Hefner, who died in 2017 at age 91, also hosted weekly ‘Pig Nights’, during which he would bring in ‘ugly’ prostitutes to have sex with his friends

Two former Playboy employees have given shocking accounts of sexual abuse during their time working for Hugh Hefner’s empire in an explosive new docuseries.

PJ Masten, a corporate ‘Bunny Mother’, claimed she was raped by a powerful executive because Playboy magazine condoned misogyny and sexual harassment.

And Miki Garcia, a former head of promotions, said she was raped twice by a sponsor early on in her career at the company.

The revelations are made in ‘Secrets of Playboy’, a 10-part docuseries that premiered on A&E on January 24, and has lifted the lid on the ‘dark underbelly’ of Playboy and how its venues became a seedy playground for drug use, sexual abuse, and even bestiality.

The series portrays late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner as a ‘vampire’ who manipulated and drugged dozens of young women into taking part in degrading orgies, while masquerading as a champion of sexual freedom.

Miki Garcia, a former head of promotions, said she was raped twice by a company sponsor. She described the conditions were ‘cult-like’ and that she had been a victim early on in her career there

Sondra Theodore, Hefner’s former girlfriend from 1976 to 1981, last week claimed he sexually assaulted their dog and would even watch people get murdered in snuff films for pleasure.

In Monday night’s episode, interviews with Masten and Garcia went into harrowing detail about the sexual abuse they suffered.

Masten, who managed the day-to-day operations for bunnies between 1975 to 1982, recalled a high ranking executive forcing himself upon her.

‘He started kissing me, and he started grabbing me, and I said, “Please,” Masten recalled.

‘This was a big executive. I said, “Please don’t do this.” And he said, “Why do you think you came to work in corporate?” He said, “You have to play the game if you want to do anything in corporate.”

‘I was not an active participant,’ Masten says in Monday night’s episode. ‘He just did what he had to do and turned around… raped me and he walked out’

‘I was not an active participant. He just did what he had to do and turned around… raped me and he walked out.’

The incidents of rape and sexual abuse were not isolated however, she adds, and were part of a culture in the Playboy Mansion and other locations.

Miki Garcia, Playboy’s former director of promotions from 1973 to 1982, said the conditions were ‘cult-like’ and that she had been a victim early on in her career there.

Speaking about a time when she had to attend an auto show to sign autographs, Garcia said she was raped twice.

‘I didn’t want to become a problem to Playboy’ Garcia said.

In the series, one interviewee says Hefner’s Playboy Mansion is likened to Las Vegas, but there is a misconception it’s ‘fun’ and ‘cute’ to think ‘anything that happens in the mansion stays at the mansion’

The docuseries that premiered on A&E on January 24 has served to lift the lid on the ‘dark underbelly’ of Playboy

Theodore is one of many Playboy Mansion insiders who claim in Secrets of Playboy that Hefner drugged dozens of young women and forced them to take part in degrading orgies, while masquerading as a champion of sexual freedom. Hefner was seen with an entourage of Playboy Bunnies in 1966

‘I didn’t want for them to perceive me as a whiner or a person that couldn’t handle the job. And so the tough part of me kicked in. I knew this is the way it was going to go and that was it.’

The incident only motivated Garcia to climb the corporate ladder.

She said, ‘I was going to get into a position of power so that no woman had to put up with that kind of behavior from any man just because she had a rabbit head logo on her.’

After Garcia rose to the position of director of promotions, she made sure her rapist would never work with Playboy again.

‘So, when my rapist ordered up a Playmate for a job, I simply instructed my secretary to tell him to never call again, never,’ Garcia said.

‘He would never, never, ever get a model from Playboy… Never.’

‘It was cult-like. The women had been groomed and led to believe they were part of this family. He (Hefner) really did believe he owned these women.

Ahead of the show’s premiere, Playboy sent Yahoo Entertainment a statement to distance itself from Hefner and his actions

‘We had Playmates that overdosed, that committed suicide’.

The series also includes interviews with Linda Lovelace, the 1970s porn star who found fame with the film Deep Throat, who says she was treated like a ‘piece of meat’ and forced to perform oral sex on a German Shepherd while Hefner and his friends watched.

Former Playboy Bunny Mother PJ Masten said: ‘All the guys were laughing when she got out of the limousine. She was drunk and drugged.

‘All of a sudden out of nowhere a German Shepherd shows up. They got her so messed up they made her give the German shepherd oral sex. You want to talk about depravity? This is despicable!’
